Care for Hair Extensions
Special Comb: It's essential to invest in a special comb for caring for hair extensions. Comb the hair multiple times a day, paying close attention to the roots. This is crucial, especially when the extensions have grown out slightly from the roots, to prevent tangling at the attachment points. If your extensions are longer than 50 cm, when combing the hair ends, be sure to hold the roots to avoid causing damage.
Before Washing: If the hair has been styled, such as curled, it should be combed before washing.
Swimming: Before going swimming in the sea or pool, gather the hair into a loose braid and comb it carefully. After swimming, wash the hair with shampoo and conditioner, as chlorine and saltwater can irreversibly damage the structure of the hair extensions.
Sleeping: When sleeping, hair should be tied loosely with 3-4 soft hair ties or in a loose braid. Avoid using small hair ties as they can break the hair.
Tanning Bed: When visiting a tanning bed, it's recommended to use a head covering to protect the hair from UV rays, which can dry out the hair.
Sauna: While in a sauna, wrap a towel around the head to prevent the heat from affecting the attachment points of the hair extensions.
Straightening: Hair can be straightened with a straightener with a temperature not exceeding 180 degrees, no more than twice a week, avoiding contact with the attachment points to prevent them from loosening. Before straightening, use products that protect the hair from heat.
Toning and Coloring: It's preferable to tone or dye the hair extensions darker using hair dyes that do not contain ammonia. Under no circumstances should hair extensions be bleached.
Washing: Avoid sleeping with wet hair - it's recommended to wash hair in the morning.
Styling Products: Styling products such as mousse, hairspray, and gel can be used.
Heat Tools: Using curling irons, straighteners, and hot blow dryers significantly shortens the lifespan and quality of hair extensions.
Sports: If you engage in active sports and sweat, it can lead to faster slippage of hair extensions.
Hair Care Products: If the hair doesn't feel smooth, silky, and light after washing and blow-drying, it's necessary to change hair care products. The quality of hair care products plays a significant role in maintaining the quality of hair extensions.
